Hi! Thanks so much for stopping by my website and blog. I’m Lauren – the owner and photographer at Lauren Vanni Photography.

How all of this began…

Long story short: I’ve always loved photography. From taking courses in high school, using film cameras and developing my own film, to a point and shoot, to my first DSLR – it has been my favorite hobby for a long time.

In January of 2021, I decided to secretly make an Instagram account for a place to share my photos. I was too nervous to tell my family and friends, but eventually they found it. I mostly shared landscape photography from traveling or wandering around DC or Old Town. By September, I decided to take it a step further and start taking photos of friends and posting them, eventually hiring Brigitte Renee Photography for a few mentoring sessions to help me get started in opening my own business. By December, it was official, I held my first round of mini sessions, and started having actual paid clients.

It’s been about a year and a half and most times I’m still surprised that I actually went through with any of it. I’m so glad that I did, and beyond grateful for all of the families who have trusted me to preserve some of their memories! I absolutely love sharing those moments with you – there’s something so magical about having the ability to freeze a moment in time. Being able to look back on those moments for years to come is such a gift.
