Because the love of your family lives in those tiny moments—when your toddler wraps their little hands around your neck, or when your older child leans in to gently kiss their new sibling’s forehead. It’s in the way your baby’s fingers curl around yours, the bursts of laughter when your kids share a secret, and the quiet glance between you and your partner when no one else is looking. I create space for these moments to unfold naturally during our session, offering gentle prompts and support along the way to help you relax and connect. I’ll guide you when needed, while quietly observing and capturing the love and joy in every moment.
I'm lauren
Years of working with children gave me an intuitive sense of how to make them feel comfortable in front of the camera. Photography became my way of preserving the small, beautiful moments that define a family’s story. Now, I bring my background in education into every session, creating a warm, stress-free environment where families can simply be themselves.
As an elementary teacher of English language learners, I've worked with students from kindergarten through third grade. Teaching taught me how to adapt, engage, and bring out the best in every child—skills that now help me create a relaxed, joyful photography experience.
After moving to Washington, DC, I worked as a tutor with AmeriCorps and pursued graduate school in teaching English language learners. These experiences deepened my ability to connect with children of all backgrounds.
I graduated college with a degree in Early Childhood Education. I began working with young children in pre-school and kindergarten, developing the patience and understanding that now shape my approach to photography.

Lauren was absolutely incredible at capturing our family's memories this summer! Her patience and kindness with my 13-month-old daughter made the photo session a breeze. We're so grateful for the beautiful photos she took, especially the ones of our daughter pointing out where her baby sister would be. These will be cherished treasures for years to come. I highly recommend Lauren to anyone looking for a talented and caring photographer!!

Lauren is the best! She first took couple’s photos of my husband and me. We loved the photos so much we booked her again for a maternity shoot. When our son was born we did a newborn session with her. Most recently she took family pictures of us that we ended up using for our holiday cards. She is also a full time teacher so she is great with kids! Cannot recommend enough. Can’t wait for our next session with her.

Lauren took our maternity photos and my husband and I absolutely love how they turned out! Lauren was easy to work with and she knew exactly where to go in Old Town Alexandria for different photo locations. The photo prints also turned out beautiful! We’re so glad to have these moments captured during a special time.
